THE ULTIMATE DIE CUT PARTS RESOURCE
Application Overview: Refineries and chemical plants specify isolation kits to protect the integrity and reliability of a piping system from potential electrical intrusion. Isolation kits are designed to work in conjunction with flanges, where gaskets, bolt sleeves and washers eliminate metal-to-metal contact and halt electric currents. The Problem: Phenolic gaskets are often supplied in kits, but they are exceptionally hard and typically take significant flange load to seal. Since lack of load is the number one reason for gasket failure, you may be averting one safety issue and creating another with a leaking system. The Solution: KLINGER C-7400 is an EPDM and aramid fiber gasket material that can satisfy both sealing and electric requirements. Gaskets made from this material provide an effective seal with its low minimum sealing stress, and its non-conductive properties provide electrical isolation of the flanges. KLINGER C-7400 can be used as a non-conductive isolator and as a gasket in bolted joints - replacing phenolic gaskets. KLINGERSIL C-7400 has the highest dieletric strength when compared to many of the other compressed gasket materials. The dielectric strength of KLINGERSIL C-7400 is 22 kv/mm. Flange isolation gaskets? Yeah, we do that. www.blueridgefab.com/
